The tureen of ovoid form, the deep sides rising from a spreading foot, set with a pair of animal mask handles, decorated in bright famille rose enamels with the 'King John' pattern of two peacocks perched on rockwork amidst tree peony, magnolia and other flowers in full bloom, a border of upright fleur-de-lys around the foot, the stand similarly decorated, the cover with an inverted convolvulus finial surrounded by bright floral sprays.
