Of baluster form with flattened sides, each finely and brightly painted with indented cartouches of identical scenes, on one side with a large oval cartouche depicting ladies in a terrace holding conversation, all dressed in elaborate dresses and tiaras, one with a phoenix crown seated on a gnarled tree seat with a small boy next to her, further pavilions and hills receding into the distance, above on the neck an upright cartouche enclosing a scene of two birds perched on a branch painted in iron red, en grisaille and blue enamels; on the other side a further large oval cartouche shows a seated lady, again in elaborate dress and jewellery, holding a small Pekingese dog and a small mirror, two female attendants and a male figure nearby, again further pavilions and hills receding into the distance, and above on the neck an upright cartouche enclosing a scene of two birds perched on a branch painted in iron red, en grisaille and blue enamels; the narrow sides each with an upright cartouche enclosing a scene of either a young lady and a young man in a landscape or a lady wearing a hat and holding a flower basket walking together with a small boy,  all reserved on a ground of iron-red and gilt Y-pattern diaper encrusted with flowers, lingzhi funghi and gilt boughs moulded in relief and growing from vine which trails over the whole vase, the flowers with layers of petals and the leaves with vein detail, each handle modelled as a clambering chilong dragons in gilt and iron-red decoration; the covers similarly decorated with small cartouches enclosing iron-red landscapes  and surmounted by finials modelled as seated male figures, the foot and rim slightly flaring and lobed of quatrefoil shape.
