Of circular form with foliate rim, decorated in lustrous famille verte enamels, painted to the centre with a scene of a man and woman crossing a bridge over a lotus pond, towards a tiled pavilion, the curtain draped to one side to reveal a stand holding a vase to and a censer the interior, each of the pair wearing long robes and clasping an open fan, flanked by ornate rockwork and below the boughs of a willow tree and swirling clouds, all encircled to the cavetto with a ring of differently coloured and patterned butterflies alternating with blooms, the wide rim decorated with a scene of perhaps the same couple in a terraced garden, both holding a fan in each one, the woman standing beside a low table in front of a screen, the scene repeated around the rim five times and separated by rockwork and different blooms, including peony and chrysanthemum, the reverse with spiral moulded wall and painted with four ribboned auspicious objects, a conch, two chimes, and a scroll, the glazed base with a ribboned chime mark within a double circle in underglaze blue.
