The tapered ovoid body surmounted by an elongated cylindrical neck with flared rim, masterfully painted in bright underglaze cobalt blue with, on the lower register two scholars in conversation standing on a jagged promontory in a craggy mountainous landscape dotted with old pines, secluded cabins and thatch-roof pavilions, in the foreground a fisherman casts his net in the water, around him stylised rockwork, the upper register similarly painted with a lone figure walking and in the foreground a fisherman his rod cast sits waiting, nearby another fisherman also fishing close to two scholars in animated conversation, one scholar has his hand raised, the base glazed with a double ring in blue.
