Of round form, the gently curved sides rising to an upturned edge and a foliate rim, finely decorated in bright shades of underglaze blue, painted with a star-shaped central panel enclosing auspicious objects including scrolls, vessels and an Artemisia leaf surrounded by tassels, all framed within an elaborate double bracketed border decorated with diaper patterns in blue on white, the cavetto decorated with slightly moulded drop-shaped medallions painted with alternately auspicious objects or peach and flower sprays and linked by scrolls, the underside typically painted with stylised motifs.
