Literature

The Augustus the Strong Collection at the Porzellansammlung in Staatliche Kunstsammlungen, Dresden, has a number of similar figures, also with traces cold painting and dated to the Kangxi period. For examples, see inventory numbers PO 2912; PO 2913; and PO 2907.

There are two similar figures, also with cold painting but of smaller proportions, in the Royal Collection, London, displayed in the King’s Great Bedchamber at Hampton Court Palace (collection numbers RCIN 1011 and RCIN 1012). These are dated early in the Kangxi period, 1660 – 1690, and are illustrated in C&J : Ayers, J., 2016. Chinese and Japanese Works of Art in the Collection of Her Majesty The Queen. 3 vols., London – C&J 300.
