KANGXI PORCELAIN

Of baluster shape, painted in bright famille verte enamels, iron-red, green, yellow and aubergine colours and blue, with two panels of flowering blossoms growing on thin branches, one with fruits, both with little insects buzzing around, issuing from stylised rockwork, alternating with two panels of antiques, one with in the centre a Ku-shaped vase on a small stand, holding a coral stick and two peacock feathers, surrounded by on one side a finely drawn birdcage, with a small green and yellow bird, hanged on an elaborate stand decorated with a blue head of a beast, and on the other side a large koro, scattered around, a large Artemisia leaf, a folded panel, a double-gourd vase, two interlinked rings and small incense holders, the other panel with, also in the centre, a finely decorated Ku-shaped vase, holding flowers, a koro on long legs and with an elaborate cover, a folded scroll, books, a bowl on a large green stand holding a ju-i sceptre, a screen painted with green waves and red, blue and yellow long clouds, on a light green ground and two interlinked lozenges, all reserved on a ground of honeycomb pattern interspersed with larger stylised blue flower-heads, each cartouche finishing at the top with curl-work and ju-i heads, around the neck a band of flowered diamond work interspersed by four small cartouches painted with  auspicious symbols, around the foot a scrolling green stylised branch, the base glazed.
