Of squat stem shape with slightly flaring foot, following a European metal form, the bowl painted with a broad band of peony blooms around the sand perforations, an incised blue line at the rim and on the reverse of the bowl a border of single flower heads, the stem decorated with a band of scholars' objects, the foot further decorated with a continuous band of flowering sprays within incised blue lines, the footrim unglazed, the slightly recessed base glazed.
