Of round form with a foliate rim, decorated in shades of underglaze blue, the centre painted with a design of a bird strutting along a leafy spring, set among two large blooms of flowering chrysanthemum issuing from the rockwork below, a single butterfly in flight overhead; the well lightly moulded and decorated with petal-like panels, each containing a type of flower, including prunus and peony; the wide outer rim decorated with a continuous motif of large peony blooms and scrolling tendrils; the reverse painted with four flowering branches, the base glazed and painted in underglaze blue with a beribonned lozenge in the centre encircled by a double blue ring.
