Of triple gourd form decorated in underglaze blue, the base gourd decorated with a scene of scholars in a landscape, the middle gourd and neck with auspicious objects, the uppermost gourd with a band of inverted stylised ruyi heads, the base incised with an Augustus the Strong Inventory number N 276.

Provenance

This vase is in the 1721 Inventory of the Augustus The Strong collection, where it is catalogued as 6 stk bouteillen mit drei Bauchen (six bottles with three bellies). Four of these vases still remain in the collection at the Zwinger Museumw, Dresden.
