The bulbous sides well painted in shades of underglaze blue with two large rectangular cartouches containing narrative scenes, in one a dignitary appears worse for wear being propped up on his horse by an attendant, with two further attendants following behind carrying drinking equipment and a fan, in front of them a small well, a terrace and the sun/moon appearing between swirling clouds, in the other a high-ranking dignitary is seated on a throne in front of a large screen, he is holding a cup and with attendants around him, one holding a tall ewer, ready to refill the cups, in front of the dignitary a further figure is kneeling holding his cup up in front of him, the panels divided by florets, the short neck with isolated cloud scrolls, the base with double circular lines in blue.
