An extremely rare pair of mallet form vases with double gourd neck, the body decorated in brilliant shades of cobalt blue with flowering plants issuing from stylised rockwork above which two birds in flight, all between double blue bands, the shoulder with a band of peony sprays below a cafe-au-lait raised gourd, above which a second smaller gourd with sprays of flowers, the elongated neck repeating the decoration on the body, the slightly flaring neck with a band of hatch work, the base glazed.
