The rounded sides rising from a circular foot to a gently everted lip, decorated in bright shades of underglaze blue and painted with a continuous scene of two scholars at leisure drinking and conversing whilst reclining by a weiqi board.  The bearded scholar sits in front of a qin pointing to a stylised flock of birds flying overhead as an attendant approaches carrying a spouted drinking vessel, the scene set among pine trees and mountains in the distance, the interior with a vase of flowers, the rim with four cartouches of beribboned antiques, the base with a Chenghua six character mark in a double blue circle.
